Girls Coaching Staff
DAWN DESILETS SULMASY, Girls Program Director: Dawn started her basketball career playing for Hopkinton High School, Hopkinton, MA where she and her teammates led the team to the school’s first Massachusetts State tournament playoff bid. Dawn received the Coach’s Award her senior year for her exemplary work ethic. In 1986, she earned a walk-on spot on Bentley College’s Women’s Basketball Team Roster playing for Coach Barbara Stevens; Division II women’s basketball most winning coach. Coach Stevens recently earned her 1,000th win placing Stevens among only six women’s basketball coaches to hit the 1,000 mark; including Pat Summit. In 2014, the Bentley Falcons, after 14 trips to the NCAA Elite Eight, won the NCAA D2 National Championship.
During Dawn’s four years at Bentley, the team played in their first two NCAA Div II Final Four Tournaments and played in the Championship game her senior year. Dawn earned a scholarship and also received the Coach’s Award for her leadership efforts. Following graduation, Dawn went on to coach two seasons for Oliver Ames High School’s freshman team (27-1.) Always finding a team or kid to coach, Dawn is in her 10th season coaching the Thomas Prince Middle School Girls, has worked for 5 years in the Central Mass Travel League, and has coached both boys and girls’ tournament teams for 10 seasons.
Dawn lives in beautiful Princeton, MA where she raises her three children and has a part-time business as a Holistic Health Coach. In October 2018, Dawn launched a blog called Hoops, Health and Happiness, where she talks about “off-the-court” strategies and solutions for “on-the-court” success. www.hoopshealthhappiness.com
TRACY POMERENKE REGAN: Tracy ALSO played at Bentley University and for the legend Barbara Stevens! Tracy finished her career 14th on the school’s scoring list, with over 1,000 points. In her career at Bentley, the Falcons were 106- 25, with an Elite Eight and two Final Four appearances. Following her career at Bentley she served as an assistant coach at Emmanuel College for a year, and Saint Anselm College for five years before retiring to have a family. Tracy is a teacher in the Boston Public School. Currently, she coaches her three daughters in Framingham Travel League and runs a skills program called Live, Learn, Hoop. Tracy will be assisting the newly formed 8th Grade Girls Mass Select team and will Head Coach our 4th/5th grade team as well as advise Dawn on all things related to creating the best program for your kids! She's a true gem and we are lucky to have her work with us!! You can read more about Tracy at www.livelearnhoop.com
PETER SIEURIN: Coach Sieurin's team have dominated AAU basketball for over 10 years. He has led our 11th grade team to Qualify for Nationals and a 2nd place finish in Massachusetts State Tournament and the 9th grade team to Qualify for the ZG Nationals as well. Coach Sieurin is an excellent teacher of fundamentals and drill work. There is NO DOUBT you will acquire more skills playing for Coach Sieurin. He currently is the Head Assistant Girls Coach at Algonquin Regional HS and formerly was the Head Girls Coach at Holy Name/ Worcester HS. He will be coaching our high school team again this season.
OUR SPECIALTY TRAINING STAFF
Players on our Girls Mass Select Teams will have compulsory training sessions with two very skilled and intense trainers, Tim Jones and Jen Brickey. Both Tim and Jen will offer larger clinics for all our players for a small fee. Those clinics will be announced and posted on this page!
TIM JONES, One Vision Training: Tim Jones is a 2018 inductee to the Curry College Athletic Hall of Fame and the all-time-leading scorer for their Men's Basketball team. Tim teaches explosive offensive attack moves and pure shooting techniques. He is the master of an intense workout. One vision training works with all levels of basketball from pro athletes to middle schoolers. We are delighted to have Tim Jones join our girls' program staff as a specialty coach. Tim also trains privately and you can learn more about One Vision Training at www.1ovt.com What I love about Tim is his amazing connection to kids and his ability to quickly evaluate a players skill set and get right to work on what they need to reach their next level.
JEN BRICKEY, Women's Performance Basketball: Jen Brickey played on a full scholarship for D1, Hofstra University 1999-2003. Jen's extensive basketball accolades (and there are a lot!) can be found on her website at www.jenbrickey.com. She is currently the head strength and conditioning coach at Concord Academy in Concord, Mass and the head coach and owner of Fusion Workouts, a kettlebell and sports performance gym in Newton, Mass. Jen is a dynamo! What I love about Jen is her commitment to raising the bar for female athletes and coaches and her dedication to specializing strength and conditioning to girls. Her no-nonsense approach and simple instructions make her work-outs easy yet very effective.
